- scored this from some member on a totally diff forum claiming this was redone/restored - picked it up for dirt - thx man !! smokin deal !!)
- it wasn’t even close to redone and required full strip down –not many people would do this (not on those forums) but what the heck, ive got nothing but time and money on hand , hehheh
- every last screw/washer (including edges/insides of washer believe it or not)/ bolts and everything else (every part) was detached, break cleaned and /or degreased - the metal bits (screws/washers nuts) were rotary tooled/wire brushed on every bare millimeter - complete (every thing, every last one)
- the old rusted hinge pins (one of the ones that was 'restored previously' huh ? was a reg hinge pin ("new school" with e clip and with a 1/4 fuel line for a spacer) were replaced with new in package orig hinge pins
- the bearings were not bad, but i lucked out and scored a new set
- orig lid for radio gear was missing, in its place stood a crap black corrugated plastic flat lid (it was custom cut to the box dimensions though – kudos) – got a new in pack one for it !!!
- tube chass and frame were in great shape/well used - chass was stripped and polished/ tube chass is at the powder coaters being redone as i type (took a while to find a powder coater for some reason, learned my lesson - don’t ask anyone else - find em yourself (and there is buckets of guys to choose from) - the suggestions were dead beats (but I still appreciate the responses i got (all 2 of them, heh heh)
- no driver/body came with (long gone before I acquired) – scored a new unpainted bod !! (still unpainted – heh heh)
- drive chain was missing master kink (someone attempted to bend/fu7k up the link as they did not have the final clasp to hold it) – got a new in pack orig one !!
- engine that came with is great – old school picco .21 from orig era – you know the one-so old the clutch spring is a piece of wire you would have bent up yourself and has the orig alum solid clutch shoes (and still works great !!) – engine was tested before I stripped this baby down and fired up (with new glow plug ) on third try – yes, I stripped it (engine) down for a good cleaning as well (every last nut..screw – remember, heh heh)
- gas tank – well its got the orig old school screw on lid – gonna remain that way; only thing is the rubber grommets were badly deteriorated (for in/out fuel lines where attaching to the old school / funky alum/bended inserts, hoky poky I admit but they worked back then !! – i tired to match em up with reg grommets but no success yet (anyone got some extras, heh heh - please !)
over the time ive had it I took many photos in between tear down (primarily for rebuild positioning until I got my hands on the orig manual that is ) so ive posted all pics to date since the beginning, there is more to come of course, but im almost done – oh yeah – there is even an orig ad ! – for some insane reason – I am into vintage restos all of a sudden ….. and loving every minute of it !! ;D
mmm, mail…
bod on shot
the ad is no longer showing the right price for todays market!! hehhehh ( if it was - i'd buy a storage container of them to turn over )
(note: this will never be sold, be teased for sale or go on ebay for sale - too priceless to rid of)
