Hey fellow Landjump, Vanning owners.
I asked my previous dad in law, if he could find a new chain for my Vanning. (He owns a machineshop) Well he measured the chain and asked around for it.
Guess what, there is a new chain in the mail for me.
So a chain is still available for the Vanning, the downside is that it costs about 650dkr (60£) + taxes per meter.
Hopefully he measured the chain correctly, I will get back to you on that subject, along with the name of the chain if it fits.
Cheers, Dunlop

Good news and bad news guys.
The goods news, the new chain fits perfectly, so a chain is still available on the market.
The bad news, the clutch came lose when I ran the car. The clutch blocked the engine with such a force, that either the piston rod or the crankshaft broke. There went my new in box OS Max 21 VF-BR.
The engine had just finished running on run in fuel.
Hopefully a friendly person somewhere, knows which parts I can use for that engine.
Since my mood went to zero, I totally forgot about the name of the chain. I will still have to get back to you on that.

Just took that cover plate off the engine, the connecting rod is all bent and broke. The rest "looks" ok

No the engine ran fine, the clutch detached from the engine. I guess the engine rev'ed to much. Anyway, I've found a new connecting rod in Denmark. I guess they still use the connecting rod in other engines. And a store in Italy still has a cylinder/piston set laying around. The engine should come back up again. But d**n a brand new 21 VF-BR

The name of the chain, ladies and gentlemen, is RS15-1 Any decent toolstore (special tools though) should be able to get it for you. The chain is about 75cm long and it costs about 70£ per meter. The chain is a bit wider than the original, but it's not a problem at all.

Hi, I am trying to get a chain for the Landjump/Vanning which has a RS-15 code as well. The brand Tsubaki is one of the producers of this code.
But about 150USD seems to me high for a simple chain, when you can get some 2nd hand Vannings for this price. The other issue is that you need a tool to cut this chain, I mean removing some links. I asked for this as well, which could be the expensive part when available.

Hi. It is more likely that a stone popped off the clutch "E" ring and so everything flew apart. I've had that happen once to many so I made a guard to cover the entire end of the clutch bell bearing E ring. Now 20 some years later and no trouble. By the way mine is the Presto and the Vanning. Both are all original except for the little guard. I drilled and tapped to small holes below the bell and then bent a small piece of aluminum like a "Z only with 90 degree bends" and then used two screws to hold it. I hope this helps you, I lost two piston/cylinders before i made them

To go to 2wd just drive without front bones. It works just fine.

or take out the front bones/diff, etc and lose some chain - not too hard to fig the length as long as you have a link tool in hand and can 'feel' the right 'slack' needed in the chain. the way i see it is the only reason to go 2wd on this masterpiece of an rc is to race other guys who have modded it for this purpose; otherwise if you want that '2wd 'effect (for no other reason at all) then rip apart the front diff - degrease it and run it with lighter lube to get the 'loose' diff effect why do you want to do this - keep 'er stock man, my 2 pents, heh heh
